Nurse Clinics

Practice Nurses area available by appointment. Their general tasks include:

  • Dressings and removal of stitches
  • Over 40 Health checks
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Infant and adult immunisations
  • ECGs ( after consultation with doctor)
  • Specific clinics include Sexual health and smears
  • Tuesday and Thursday ( immunisations)
  • Wednesday and Friday ( Smears and sexual health,contraception)

 

Chronic Disease Registers

Reviews of patients with chronic disease e.g. Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension Epilepsy etc are via appointments with the Doctor or Practice Nurse.

We do the following chronic disease checks : 

  • Asthma clinic
  • Diabetic clinic
  • COPD clinic
  • Hypertension clinic
  • Epilepsy clinic
  • Learning Disability review
  • Mental Health clinic
  • Heart Disease Clinic

 

Child Health Clinic

The Child Health Clinic is for all babies aged 6-8 weeks. It is conducted on Thursday mornings once a month as a joint clinic involving the Doctor, Practice Nurse All newborn babies that have been registered are automatically sent appointments by Child Health. Please make sure that you new baby is registered. The Health visitor will contact you separately to make an appointment at the Washwood Heath Health Centre.

 

Antenatal Clinic

The Practice provides shared Antenatal Care with the Community Midwives and the hospital. Please see Reception to book with the midwife.

 

Family Planning

All Doctors provide Contraceptive Advice and care by appointment.

 

ECG Service

These services are available within the Practice via appointment with doctor.

 

Diabetic Clinic

A hospital diabetic nurse attends once a month to review Type 2 diabetic patients on a Tuesday afternoon 2pm-4.30pm. We work with a diabetic consultant to review best management for a diabetic patient.

 

Immunisations, Blood Tests and Cervical Smears

These are provided via an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

 

Phlebotomy

Blood tests are done Monday morning 9.30am to 12.00noon and 4.00pm to 6.00pm.
